ubitricity celebrates the inauguration of Le Havre’s first recharging hub

Dec 6, 2022 | Press Releases

On 5th of December, the first electric recharging hub of the region was inaugurated at the Océane Stadium, in the presence of Edouard Philippe, President of the Le Havre Seine Métropole Urban Community, and Vincent Baril, President of Shell France.

The event coincided with the deployment of more than 500 charge points for electric and hybrid vehicles in the area. Managed by ubitricity, a member of the Shell group, this project makes Le Havre Seine Métropole a pioneering territory for electric mobility in France.

Le Havre, December 5th 2022:ubitricity, manufacturer and charge point operator and a 100% subsidiary of the Shell group, have been selected by the Urban Community to deploy a dense network of recharging stations to support the development of electric mobility and achieve the energy transition objectives of Le Havre Seine Métropole.

By the end of 2024, the project plans to install more than 500 charge points for all residents, visitors and tourists in the Le Havre region, with the network containing 476 AC charge points (22kW) and 58 DC fast charge points (150 kW).

The installation of the first AC chargers began this summer. Around twenty charge points will be accessible by the end of 2022, with the deployment continuing into 2023 and 2024. ubitricity plans to install charge points at more than 150 sites in the 54 municipalities of the Le Havre Seine Métropole Urban Community.

Drivers of electric vehicles will be able to access ubitricity’s newly integrated recharging solutions through charging apps such as Shell Recharge. The charge points will be powered exclusively by electricity generated from renewable energy.
